……..A Perfect Start…
by Bruce E. Camber (in process)
2019 Nobel Laureate P. James Peebles (Princeton) said,
“…we have no good theory of such a thing as the beginning.”

The most important beginning is the start of our universe.1 It effects everything, everywhere, throughout all time. It effects how we understand space, time, infinity, relations, values, ethics, and ourselves. There is nothing trivial about it; and, only within these webpages, the claim is made that it is a perfect start!

A bewildering statement.2 The start of the universe has been problematic for a long, long time. And today, we are in a particularly difficult period. The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) continues to put pressure on big bang cosmology so much so, there are growing tensions around its many shortcomings. It appears that we need a theory that begins very smooth, turns all the epochs of the big bang theory into ongoing processes, and then picks up with all the current observations and measurements but within a natural inflation.

In our “new” model all the epochs are processes that are always active, a dynamic that defines the universe in its entirety right now.

This emergent theory starts “perfectly smooth” and it is a perfect start. Yes, it absorbs the epochs of the big bang theory as processes. But here, it starts with universals and constants — geometries, dimensionless constants like pi (π), and the Planck base units — as the foundations of it all.

The Planck base units have been recalculated by the global accountability agencies like the BIPM, ISO, CODATA, NIST, and others. Though those basic numbers may be adjusted a bit, the concepts will be consistent as the foundations are created for particles and waves.

It is a most-simple start. That very first moment of space-time is defined by the very first infinitesimal sphere which is itself defined by pi (π) and then by the Planck’s base units (and the dimensionless constants that define each of those units, again noting that these values are subject to change using calculations that are more rigorous than Max Planck’s 1899 efforts). After asking a few what if questions, one can assume, one sphere per unit of PlanckLength-and-PlanckTime. These infinitesimal spheres are defined by the continuity, symmetry, and harmony of pi (π) and that is the very definition of perfection.

It’s a different start and model of the universe.3 By applying base-2 notation (doubling or multiplying each unit by 2 over and over and over again), the constant aggregation of those Planck base units gives us a rate of expansion. We quickly discover that the very first second of the universe is within Notation 143. The entire universe is encapsulated in just 202 base-2 notations. Well over two-thirds of all the notations are within that first second and although the aggregations challenge one’s imagination, it is straight-forward and logical. After that first second comes the first year; it is within Notation 169. The first 1000 years is within Notation-179, the first million years in Notation-189 and the first billion years within Notation-199. It is a very different model and it is definitively telling us that there is something happening here.

A coherent view of the universe will give us a coherent view of our world and of ourselves. It opens an understanding based on scientific logic and mathematics. If the qualities of pi (π), continuity-symmetry- harmony, become the bedrock of understanding our universe, our world and ourselves, possibilities for a golden age may actually begin to be seen on the horizon.

___

Since December 2011 about 35 new concepts (first principles, assumptions or presuppositions) have emerged from this work.

It all may seem aloof, but it has immediate applicability. Where the big bang gives us a sense of nihilism, continuity-symmetry-harmony gives us a sense of value. An extreme example is the February 24, 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Vladimir Putin. He may someday learn that to make good judgements, it’s not the last 10 years, 100 years, or 1000 years that matter. The first year of history gives us the most guidance.

To grasp it all will take many subject experts to help define those 202 notations most precisely. It’ll take our finest logicians and mathematicians to help define the first 64 notations, all in a range much too infinitesimal for our measuring devices and methods.

Also, the zeptosecond, currently the smallest unit of time ever measured, is 10-21 seconds; it is within Notation-74 and it is one trillionth of a billionth of a second. It will be a challenge, but slowly we will all learn about our infinitesimal universe with all its infinitesimal time durations.

This is a pivotal project.4 Our understanding of Planck scale physics has been illusive. It seems that notations 0-to-64 have not been formally studied beyond the walls of this website. Yet, there are no less than nine disciplines that are defining them without acknowledging Notations 0-64. These are studies by many of our leading scholars. They know the conceptual roadblocks that are everywhere along the lines of particle physics and field theories and between the working models of the small-scale and the large-scale universe. Those 64 notations can be used to remove conceptual roadblocks through mathematics (numbers-geometries-and-equations) and logic.

The goal should be to make it all so elementary that elementary school children can begin to understand their universe. Thank you.

Afterthoughts: An invitation to participate

This effort needs to involve a great diversity of people and a large number of people. We will all have our own unique background story. A key part of it all will be our understanding of infinity. Given that the majority of the population of the world seems to affirm some universals-and-constants but in very different ways, we will limit our engagement of our studies of infinity. No matter what one’s historic beliefs are, within this study, infinity will be defined by and limited to our understanding of pi (π).

This effort is open to all. The only conditions to participate is to keep it simple, to explain your logic and reasoning, to constantly question everything, everywhere for all time, and to engage the simple formula for pi (π) whereby continuity, symmetry, and harmony are the starting conditions of all things finite. If you want to be part of this effort, you will have come to terms with pi (π).

PS: A personal note

It is August 2023. My name is Bruce Camber and my earliest studies of this process go back to December 2011 when I helped a nephew, a high school geometry teacher, by taking his classes for a few days so he could be with his darling wife while she gave birth to their second child. Before that time I had been studying geometries, creativity, and what I called, “a moment of perfection within space-time.” I had started in 1970 with the EPR Paradox, moved on to Bell’s inequalities, and then emergence. Not until December 2011 did I find those 202 base-2 notations (doublings; multiplying by 2) from the symbolic smallest units of time to this very day and moment. That container of the universe, everything-everywhere-for-all-time, was necessary. Grasping a logical universe was necessary to begin to see how everything fits together. It is a very different model and we need help to interpret it!

I would be delighted to have you join us on this journey. Might you consider it? -BEC

There may not be many because all these points already have pages within this website.

Endnote: Of the seven listed — space, time, infinity, relations, values, ethics, and ourselves — values and ethics are keys to applying continuity-symmetry-harmony to life. These are the keys to a golden age.

[2] That bewildering statement begets questions with real answers:
(a) Is it too smooth too early in the life of the universe for the Big Bang? The JWST is the most recent telescope to observe a smooth universe closer to the start than what was expected. Others had opened that door long ago. The Hubble Space Telescope carried on from the observations of Planck ESA, WMAP and others.
(b) What happened to the ubiquitous indeterminacy of quantum mechanics?
Answer: It is not ubiquitous. Quantum fluctuations are the result of a physical gap created by simple geometry. It goes back to Aristotle’s mistake. I’ll try to write it up for ArXiv.
(c) How can the entire universe, all space and time, be encapsulated within 202 dynamic, base-2 notations?
Answer: We have failed to teach and understand base-2 notation. The Wheat and Chessboard example of 2-to-the-64th power demonstrates it. On which square, 1-64, does the doubling equal the world’s wheat harvest in 2021? Answer: https://81018.com

To grasp how small these infinitesimal spheres are, it will take all 64 notations to emerge with the smallest particles. It will take 74 notations to measure a unit of time. It will take 143 notations to get a feel for how many infinitesimal spheres are generated in a second.

The projected rate of expansion could well be a cosmological constant.

[3] A very different start and model of the universe. It must be said as loudly and clearly as possible: “This model does not change the results of current research.” Whether we acknowledge it or not, the base-2 container is already our laboratory. This model just opens more ways to explore our most stubborn questions. We will simply stop saying, “After the big bang…” and begin to research those notations in which one’s research most readily applies. I suspect that we will also realize that there are tracks of perfection throughout all 202 notations, domains of perfection most likely below Notation-50, and tracks of imperfection that break through Notation-50.

In my earliest days of thinking about this construct to create the foundations for particles and waves, I called it a hypostatic domain of mathematics, geometries, logic and reason.

[4] Pivotal Project. Those nine disciplines that do not recognize the first 64 notations represent the best scholars living today. Knowing full-well how idiosyncratic this simple start of the universe is, we will not give up on them and they will all get an email about this page. But, given the most recent results of the JWST, emails will now increasingly be sent to the co-authors, postdocs, and graduate students of these scholars. There is a crack in the cosmic egg defined by Stephen Hawking, Alan Guth, and so many others.

It’s time to move on and give our world an orderly sense of our universe that we can all embrace; and then hopefully someday, we can all embrace each other.
