What is infinity and space-time-light?

Do You Have A Question?

We all have questions. If you think about it, we have more questions than we have answers. New insights always seem to open more questions. That has been entirely  true within this website and our project to understand our simple chart of numbers (partially pictured just above). And, yes, the most important question, as given in this article’s title just above, is still quite open. Without better answers, the  four penultimate questions, “Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? And, what is the meaning and value of life?” will not, and cannot, be answered satisfactorily.

December 19, 2011: Our little project informally began in a high school geometry classroom. It was the last day of classes before the New Year. Our special challenge was to follow Zeno (as in his paradox) back to the Planck Wall. We would be using embedded geometries: It was great fun and opened more questions than it provided new answers and insights.

FAQ. Our very first “questions” page was initially compiled toward the end of December 2011, yet it has been frequently updated:

January 8, 2012: The first attempt to write an article about this simple map of the universe was compiled:  It was based on a stream  consciousness that was essentially a series of questions.

March 2012: Wikipedia. The next attempt to go public was to initiate a Wikipedia article about this work. We were sure all the concepts that we embraced were out there somewhere in the universe of scholarship:

September 1, 2012: Our third attempt to write an article was based on the questions, “Is it true everything starts simply?” “Could the Planck Length be the next big thing? Could Planck Time Be A Gateway To The Universe? All are key questions.

December 27, 2013: High School Science Fair. Students raised questions! Using just the Planck base units as the starting point of the physical universe, a high school Science Fair project emerged:  Another iteration of this science fair project is here:

April 2016The Chart.  We finally emerge with the simple numbers that extended all four Planck base units to the approximate age and size of the universe! And just as you would expect, these numbers raised more questions than answers that we understood.  Notwithstanding, it begged for answers to a key question we had begun to ask ourselves:

Does this model help us to understand the limitations of the big bang theory?

Speculations and logic. Speculations are fun;  perhaps logic while comparing the big bang theory with our quiet expansion is better:  Though written in June 2017, it evolved from reflections on December 28, 2011:

Open questions:

  1. What is light?  Are space and time the Janus-face of light?
  2. Where does light get its energy?
  3. Is light the Janus face of continuity, symmetry, and harmony (infinity)?
  4. What are the deep dynamics between light, length and time? c
  5. What are the deep dynamics between light, matter and energy (e=mc2)?
  6. How are the four Planck base units necessarily related? What is the role of pi (π) and the other dimensionless constants?
  7. What is the role of infinity? Does it generate the never-ending, never repeating numbers?  If not, were do they come from? What is their relation to light?
  8. Does this chart encapsulate everything, everywhere, for all time?
  9. Can we go beyond a basic unified theory of mathematics and physics?
  10. Can we also speculate about consciousness and ethics-and-values?

The Finite-Infinite Transformation

A key stumbling block was our analysis of infinity. I imposed work that I had done in 1972. I had concluded:

1. The infinite is continuity (never-ending), the very nature of order, sequence and time.
2. The infinite is symmetry, the very nature of relations, structure, and space.
3. The infinite is harmony,  the very nature of dynamics, the Now, and a moment of space-time.

At that time and now, this was all we could intuit about the infinite, but it gave us many hints about the nature of the finite.

Emergence, Planckspheres, and the first moments of physicality. The first 64 notations out of the 202 have been waiting for us to study them further.

The image of an endless stream of planckspheres became dominant. They were stacking, aggregating, structuring, organizing, discovering, and testing. Perhaps these three basic images (just below) capture those initial dynamics.

Step 1 & Notations 1, 2, and 3:

As we’ve been taught, projective geometry comes first and then evolves Euclidean geometries.

Within each sphere, there is a centerpoint in a relation to the outside edge of the sphere itself. I am now asking myself, “How many different dynamics can be identified whereby everything gets connected and structure begins to emerge?” Also, consider the thrust of light, the thrust within the equation for pi, the inherent thrust within Planck Charge, and the thrust of other dimensionless constants that define each Planck base unit.

It would seem that these dynamics are at work within the first few steps that is the finite-infinite convergence.

The interior dynamics of the sphere represented by these three images, I believe, brings string theory alive in a very different light.

Step 2 & Notations 3, 4 and 5:

How many different formulas can be inter-related at each step just with these three images?  Even today string theory is a theoretical framework. Current thought leaders among their  theorists tell us that strings are one-dimensional objects, “point-like” particles.

We respectfully question that conclusion.

Within our first 64-notations of our emerging model, strings are all very three-and-four dimensional, mathematical objects that each has its own particularly-defined by mass, charge, length, and time.  Yet, at this stage of our study, it would be much too early to label anything as a brane, d-brane, graviton, inflaton, knots, p-branes, or preons.  As the mathematics builds upon itself, logically and functionally, I believe the historic naming conventions that have been developed by the best theorists will find their place. It will become rather self-evident.

Yes, I think string theory could come alive in very new ways within our Quiet Expansion.

Step 3 and Notations 4, 5 & 6

Even at this scale, I believe the wave forms are both mechanical and electromagnetic; so, in some manner of speaking, all prior work with wave equations will apply.  It is not easy to enter this space and it is easy to see why theorists surmise that it is one-dimensional, especially if space and time are considered to be absolute. Within the context of the 202 notations, the first venture into this space was with the very long article analyzing the big bang:

Editor’s Notes: A Student’s Science Fair project, a tour of the universe from within the very first chart, has been moved into the website.

Though deeply part of all intellectual inquiries, the role of questions within our paradigm that we knew is entirely idiosyncratic, is important. That is readily manifest within our page about speculations:

The key to it all is our understanding of light. A key to our understanding of light is our understanding of pi. The three images below account for our evolving understanding. The first image captures the transition from circles and spheres to lines, triangles, tetrahedron and octahedrons. The second image demonstrates the internal activity within the sphere reaching beyond itself while the third image captures the internal dynamics.
