Eight key “what if” questions
by Bruce E. Camber
First draft
Abstract
This thought experiment is an attempt to “clean the slate” to begin to approach a tabula rasa. We recognize there is an inherent cultural logic with presuppositions, among them being that our logic has a de facto respect for the concepts of continuity and symmetry. When pressed, there is a rejection of absolute space and time and big bang cosmology. Our “what if” questions reveal there is an acceptance of the logic of natural units to define a basic framework of reality and the universe. So, for this exercise, the questions are:
1. What if the Planck base units describe the first moment of time?
— Does it answer the question, What is a thing?
2. What if the first manifestation of a thing is an infinitesimal sphere?
3. What if one infinitesimal sphere is manifest for every unit of Planck time?h
4. What if 18.5 tredecillion spheres per second manifest (a simple calculation)?
5. What if we use base-2 notation for an ordering system for these spheres?
6. What if sphere stacking-packing is a foundational function of the universe?
7. What if there is a grid of infinitesimal spheres that fill the universe perfectly?
8. And, what if there is a stacking-packing that results in a geometry of gaps?
1 Big Bang cosmology (and its inflation and inflaton) are put “on hold” in order to engage the foundations of the universe in other ways. The natural units defined by the Planck base units can only be accessed by thoughts, logic, math-and-geometry, equations, and the continuities, symmetries and harmonies of pi (π).
In our base-2 configuration there are 202 base-2 notations to encapsulate the universe. The first 64 notations are below the ability of our measuring devices to capture. Here are domains for (a).hypothetical particles and (b).functional analysis as uncovered by (c).Langlands programs, (d).string theories, (e).supersymmetries, (f).loop quantum gravity, (g).causal dynamical triangulation, (h).causal set theory, (i).spectral standard model, and standard and non-standard (j).field theories.
That is a lot of theory to order; yet, 64 notations is a huge domain for differentiations of either shell particles or shell spheres to define vertices, basic geometries, continuity equations, symmetry relations, and the dynamics of harmony as in the Fourier Transform.

2The simplest three-dimensional object is a sphere. Functionally, the sphere acts like a most diverse particle! Pi (π) redefines continuity with over 100 trillion digits verified (and counting). Pi (π) is redefining symmetry even as we argue about how it could be possible with just two vertices. There is much to be discovered.
Our oldest equation became our newest equation.
The simple sphere, as an infinitesimal sphere, further flowers with Milnor and Smale and their work with attractors and repellers.
To that list we now add the concept of perfection with its continuity-symmetry-harmony and our deeper engagement of the studies of Fourier, Poincaré, Gauss, and historic scholars who gave us new insights on the versatility of pi (π).
And, to that group we add a range of new scholars, the first being Phil Davis of Brown University, Frank Wilczek of MIT, Steven Stogatz of Cornell, and Espen Gaarder Haug of Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) in Oslo.

3 “One infinitesimal sphere manifests for every unit of Planck time” has a simple logic. But, is it? A decisive dynamic, by definition these numbers being generated will mark the fastest and the densest things in the universe. Continuity is absolute. Its simplicity is likewise. It is the first manifestation of a thing.
In 1899 Max Planck first introduced his numbers for natural units of time based in part on fundamental physical constants. That calculation rendered an infinitesimally small unit of 5.39116(13)×10-44 seconds. In some academic circles, it is the shortest, meaningful interval of time. Those calculations, however, use Planck’s constant and there is a growing group attempting to re-qualify Planck’s base units without the use of Planck’s constant. Yet, even with new numbers, the concept of base units of length, time, mass and charge (energy) will stand.
George Johnstone Stoney did the first of this type of calculation in 1874 for a lecture in Belfast.3 His number for time was similar, but shorter — 4.6054×10-45 seconds. We ask, ”What could possibly be rendered in such a short interval of time? What is the most simple thing?
This article is to answer these questions as succinctly and simply as possible. No matter what that number is, we build upon a concept that is analogous or similar to PlanckTime or StoneyTime. Our primordial sphere is also weakly analogous to Lemaître’s primordial atom.
It is believed that our chart of numbers is the first analysis of an actual exponential notation that stem from fundamental units. Though Planck’s numbers were finally recognized by academia, none had done an exponential notation of those numbers.
_____
4Dynamic infinitesimal spheres is a radical concept. If we are correct and there is a range that begins somewhere around the Planck and Stoney’s calculations, and if there is one infinitesimal sphere generated per infinitesimal unit of time, we have an approximate rate of expansion of the universe.
If we use Planck Time, it would be around 18.5 tredecillion spheres per second. If we use StoneyTime, it would be many more tredecillion infinitesimal spheres per second.
Though such numbers seem beyond the scope of imagination, if this picture is anywhere close to “real reality,” the initial conditions for an Euler-like exponential notation are established. In 2017 when we did a general search on the words, ”We live in an exponential universe,” all the pages that displayed originated from within this website. In the time that has passed, that has changed radically. It’s a good sign. If our universe is exponential, then these concepts are more true than false.

5Exponentiation. Our 202 base-2 notations were the result of a high school geometry lesson in December 2011. Over time these eight key concepts slowly emerged and began to be actively explored. Yet, each concept is out of step with the work of our world’s leading scholars so we’ve asked them for critical review.
It is difficult to get scholars to look at materials that originate from a high school geometry class and do not have a proper academic paper trail. Early in the process, we thought it was a good STEM tool. It wasn’t. The concepts were too far outside the mainstream. Although this website provides some feedback, we are creating a virtual reality platform of the major theories about the start of the universe and we will highlight this one so each of these eight key points receives a larger audience.
Questions about an Exponential Universe. Who among all our scholars — including postdocs, graduate students, undergraduates — might be open to such a concept? Although there are now many scholars who are examining the domain from the Planck scale to the CERN-scale (or electroweak scale), who among them will be open to explore concepts that suggest an exponential universe?
In 2011 we weren’t too keen to engage the circle and sphere. It didn’t seem like much of a building block. The tetrahedron was more interesting. Yet, with just two vertices, the sphere necessarily opened the mysteries of pi. We had begun studying cubic close packing of equal spheres, then the types of Fourier transforms; and, we quickly learned that we had to begin to grasp scale invariance and dimensionless constants more deeply. We’ve begun with the help of some very fine teachers.

6Sphere Stacking-Packing. Here is a progressive, highly-relational flow where every thing is related to everything, everywhere, throughout time. We are foundationally and fundamentally related by infinitesimal spheres that appear to be the share foundation of everything everywhere. It is too big a concept for any of us.
Yet, it appears that none of these notations are sacrosanct and all of them are constantly changing and none of them would ever be exempt from change. The first 64 notations, representing about 9.945379×10-25 seconds, is so far removed from any possible measurement, here is a new science and a new context for matter and energy (charge), and for gravity and electromagnetism. There is much more work that will be done on this last point. Essentially now that we have the foundations for the greatest diversity of geometries, formulations, and calculations; no part of science or the human experience is exempt, including the role of sleep (which only exists in Notation-202) and the nature of consciousness. And again, I repeat, continuity, symmetry, and harmony become the basis for valuations. And, valuations become the basis for ethics, and ultimately for morals.
Cubic-close pcking (ccp). The infinitesimal sphere appears to be the key. Lemaitre, like so many before him going all the way back to Democritus, called it a “primordial atom.” It is always a sphere. In this model, this sphere is defined by the smallest units of space and time yet it still has all the functionalities of any sphere.
The sphere has continuity and symmetry, and most importantly it has harmonics (dynamics).
An infinitesimal primordial sphere is our most conceptually-rich starting point. That sphere is postulated to be the first instance of space-time, matter-energy, and electromagnetism-gravity (each sphere is an attractor or repeller). It has its never-ending, never-repeating numbers of pi. It has all the symmetries of a sphere. And, it has all the harmonic functions of a sphere. And those three characteristics of pi represent the infinite within the finite.

7A perfect grid of infinitesimal spheres flies in the face of quantum physics. Yet, we rather unwittingly were applying base-2 notation from the Planck units. Our first chart was spontaneous. Once we began getting comfortable with the numbers, a table top model emerged.
Roughly speaking, we hypothesized a pre-quantum domain of perfectly fitting geometries. There was no time and too much density imperfections; nature takes the most efficient path:.
• Notations 1-10 are eidetic forms and Langlands programs will inform that range.
• Notations 10-20 are the earliest structures (ousia) and various string theories would best inform that range. Pre-quantum, these, too, are defined as a domain of perfection.
• Notations 20-30 are the earliest substances whereby causal set theory, causal dynamical triangulation, supersymmetries, and loop quantum gravity might inform that range. Though the thought leaders within each study have made no claims, we can imagine perfected states within space-time within each study.
• Notations 30-40 are an extension of these studies and the emergence of qualities.
• Notations 40-50 extend these studies further and relations are formed first within the particular study and then between studies. Again, there appeared to be perfected states within this range of space-time.
• Notations 50-60 further extend these studies as systems to become field theories and hypothetical particles of every flavor and color. The spectral standard model opens.
All these studies were defining the earliest universe, yet they were also about qualities of infinity. The work of leading scholars in each discipline continues to be studied.
Pi (π) is our best clue about the nature of the infinite. Although religions of every kind claim to have an inside-and-direct track of information about the infinite, we will stay within mathematics, geometry, logic, and the foundations of physics. Notwithstanding, we will respect other people’s insights as currently stated.
Our belief and hope is that our information helps the philosophers, the religious, and the theologians to clarify their own beliefs, gesticulations, histories, and postulations.
David Hilbert was possibly just a bit too self-assured with his grasp of the rules of logic. How could he possibly know the depths of infinity such that he could discount some aspect of the infinite that readily manifests within and throughout the finite? Of course, this will be an ongoing subject of this website.
We all grow up within our family’s philosophical and theological orientations. As important as these orientations are to help socialize us, eventually we begin to learn about other traditions. Some of us attempt to build bridges and even to take the best from each tradition to create a new platform of understanding and for reflection. We are possibly thinking, “There has to be a way to respect other traditions without compromising your own or compromising one’s new platform of understanding.” People ask me, “What is your background? How does it influence you?” At the age of 10 in 1957, my mother and father encouraged me to explore and appreciate other traditions. By 1967 it was an avocation. By 1977 it was a vocation. In today’s world, the most dominant belief system is science and its most dominant philosophy is one of the many flavors of agnosticism and atheism. Our model engages them all. Our core belief is in order-continuity, relations-symmetries, and dynamics-harmonies. All are cornerstones of logic, rational thought, science, and our understanding of the infinite.
There are a few within our many cultures and religions who are desperately in search of a bridge of understanding that opens communications, an exchange of ideas, tolerance and trust. I continue to struggle with it. I’ll be going over every document to create a more consistent message for today. Ultimately I believe the deeper truth is within the hyphen between the finite and infinite.

8 Notations 1-60 are pre-particles/waves and quantum fluctuations. The current guess is that all begins with a gap possibly around Notation-64. Quarks and neutrinos may have some definitions in earlier notations, here they begin to emerge. Here are geometries of imperfection.
Our scholars over the years had been thrown off by Aristotle’s gap. Most know nothing about it.
It was so named because he didn’t see that gap. Either he did not have good models of tetrahedrons, or he did not experiment with them. He did not put together five tetrahedrons sharing a common edge. If he did, he would have discovered that gap. It’s obvious. And, that same gap of 7.35610+ degrees is also created when five octahedrons share a common edge.
Gaps are imperfect. They leave space for error (movement) and become statistical. Indeterminacy begins, and then it begins to become dominant. There are, however, perfections throughout these 64 notations.
Notwithstanding, this grid of spheres connects everything, everywhere throughout time to everything, everywhere for all time. Everything is held perfectly in place, but there are gaps.
In 1972 I said, “A vision abides… deep within the fabric of life there is an energy, an abiding thrust to make things better, more perfect.”
Here, another paradigm shift is the hypothesis: The Universe starts perfect, then becomes imperfect or creative or innovative.
Here is a progressive, highly-relational flow where every thing is related to everything, everywhere, throughout time. We are foundationally and fundamentally related.
