Max Planck Institutes (MPG)

Background: There are well over 80 Max Planck Institutes of one kind or another throughout the world. Over the years many emails, notes, and tweets have been sent to many MPG scholars. In May of 2024 an earnest attempt was started to see if any scholar affiliated within the MPG family had done a base-2 study applied to Max Planck’s natural units. Some of the scholars that we thought would know include:

  1. Baum, Klaus, Senior VP for Chemistry, Physics and Technology Section
  2. Beck: Dr. Christina Beck, 2020, Head of Science and Corporate Communication
  3. Bonol, Luisa, GPMG, Max Planck Research Program on the History of the Max Planck Society
  4. Geisel, Theo, Nov 9, Director em., Max-Planck-Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization
and Professor of Theoretical Physics, University of Göttingen
  5. Otto Hahn, MPG, founding president, Göttingen on 26 February 1948
  6. Jost, Jürgen, 2021 http://81018.com/jost/
  7. Karshenboim, Savely, http://81018.com/karshenboim/ Google scholar
    Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik
  8. Krausz, Ferenc, Garching https://81018.com/krausz/
  9. Kreidberg, Laura, Managing Director, Astronomy
  10. Niemeyer, Jens, 2021 https://81018.com/2021/06/02/niemeyer/
  11. Scheffler, Matthias Scheffler, UC Santa Barbara
  12. Schultze, Martin, Garching, 2017 https://81018.com/codata/#Zeptosecond
  13. White, Simon D.M., 2020. https://81018.com/2020/07/07/white_s/
  14. Yakovlev, Vladislav S. https://81018.com/a84/
  15. Zagier, Don Bernard, 2021. Personal, MPG, Wikipedia

Many more to come…

First email: One to Many, 24-25 May 2024

On our homepage it says, “The scholars within the 80+ Max Planck Institutes didn’t think to use Max Planck’s actual numbers to explore exponential notation.”

1) Do you know any scholar-scientist within the MPG family who has applied exponential notation to the Planck natural units? We applied base-2 for our initial calculations in 2011 and are still asking people who might know, “Does it mean anything?”  Our chart is here: https://81018.com/chart/

2) There are no less than 64 notations to the first yoctosecond, one trillionth of a trillionth of a second. Could there be an infinitesimal domain of 64 notations between the Planck base units and the CERN scale? Is it worth exploring if not just mathematically and logically?

Thank you.

Warmest regards,

Bruce
