I apologize for such a grandiose thought, especially given our totally
unremarkable academic careers and given the fact that our work started
in a high school geometry class. Your scholarship is so substantial
perhaps you can straighten us out.
This bridge suggested in the subject line began with tilings and
tessellations, engaged base-2 notation from the Planck units, and then
got carried away with open questions:
