Established in 1875 and abbreviated from the French, Conférence Générale des Poids et Mesures (CGPM), the General Conference on Weights and Measures is the supreme authority of intergovernmental organizations for standards of measurement and all matters related to measurement science and measurement standards. Delegates of the world’s governments elect to become member states and observers. The supervisory board is the BIPM.
We are advising the BIPM to name the four informally named (by Wikipedia) categories of durations and sizes from the Planck Units to those categories named in 2022, the quectosecond and rontosecond, and of course, the yoctosecond.
